“Is it true what they say about Paris – is it really the most romantic city in the world?”
I truly believe it is.
At this point, I’ve been to so many different cities and I have never felt the pure magic that Paris emulates. It’s the most classic definition of romance I can think of in the form of a living, breathing city.
Examples of Romantic Things To Do in Paris…
Just to give you some visuals…
There are people walking the streets of Paris who just stop and share a passionate kiss with their lover in the middle of the sidewalk. This could happen (and does happen) at any point in time.
French music, stylistically, is just so romantic. As is the language. There’s just so much elegance that purely translates as sweet music to your ears.
In this city, you’re snacking on delectable treats like croissants, macarons, and chocolate. Inevitably, you’re going to feel full of love after that.
Little markets and vendor stands line the Seine River. Some are even filled with fresh flowers, with a dreamy fragrance that follows you all the way down your path.
(To quote ABBA, “Walks around the Seine, Memories that remain.”)
And, let’s face it, there’s just something about seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up at night and all of a sudden it begins sparkling in a dazzling display. You can’t help but stare in awe.
Looking for Specific Romantic Things to Do in Paris?
Ultimately, just walking around Paris itself immerses you in this romantic atmosphere. (whether that be in the sense of a romantic relationship with another person or just romanticizing your life!)
So how do we kick it up a notch?
We spent an entire month in Paris during our Nomad Life Adventures. Our time in Paris was near the very beginning of our journey, it was during the holiday season, and fell right on our anniversary. Naturally, we leaned into romance as much as humanly possible.
Based on our own experience, here is what we believed to be The Top 3 Most Romantic Things to Do in Paris:
3. Moulin Rouge
A date night to Moulin Rouge is not only romantic but thrilling, sexy, and extraordinary!
Moulin Rouge is a Cabaret that opened back in 1889, filling its stage with dazzling performances ever since. It has gone through many transformations over the years, rooting back to dance and art in its true form.
Moulin Rouge is a show full of history – and actually originated the French Can-Can dance!
The show itself is a combination of dance numbers and death-defying stunts. The costumes were even a main event of the show – featuring fabulous designs, vibrant colors, and lots of sparkles.
There was a whole variety of scenes with different themes – like the Circus, a Pirate Ship, etc. It presented such a whimsical atmosphere!
The stunts were truly the wildest part. I don’t want to give anything away – but there were a lot of balancing acts, contortionists, and mind-blowing surprises!
To kick your date up a notch, score some Moulin Rouge VIP Tickets. You are seated in a beautiful VIP lounge, get to drink copious amounts of champagne, and even snack on some macarons. Talk about feeling fancy!

2. Paris Photoshoot with Quin
Capturing the magic of Paris in words can be hard to do… so why not capture it in photographs?
Based on purely personal experience, I highly recommend booking a Photography Session with Quin! Whether you are a couple, solo traveler, family, or any other combination, Quin has an eye for capturing Paris through the lens. She will send you home with tangible photographic memories that will long remain after your trip is complete. Quin has experience doing casual photoshoots as well as engagements, weddings, and fashion.
Quin is absolutely wonderful to work with – providing fabulous recommendations on locations and directions to make you feel at ease during your photoshoots. I will say even long after our shoot, these are still some of my all-time favorite pictures. Such a special and romantic keepsake for years to come!

1. Dinner Cruise on the Seine
But the Number 1 most romantic thing to do in Paris, in my opinion, is absolutely a Dinner Cruise on the Seine.
This is the exact one we did:
This was our anniversary date night, and we always joke about how we don’t know how it will ever be topped because it was SO special.
Upon arrival, we were escorted to our table and served a delicious meal with wine, an appetizer, an entree, champagne, and dessert. There was romantic music playing in the background, the lights were dimmed, and the scene was set. We did not have a care in the world!
We were able to see gorgeous views of the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and Paris’ Statue of Liberty.
If I had to choose only one romantic thing to do in the entire city, this would be it. It was beyond beautiful and I cannot recommend it enough!

I just made a reel about our Dinner Cruise on the Seine if you want to see it in video form:
